#MEAction Featured in Infection Control Today Whose Audience is Researchers & Medical Practitioners

As you know, Adriane Tillman, has been working extremely hard, alongside her team of volunteers to get featured in the press and she has tapped into a new audience with her latest press hit in Infection Control Today’s article, “Long COVID Shouldn’t Have Taken Us by Surprise”, by Frank Diamond.

This new audience includes researchers and medical practitioners which we are desperately trying to reach. It is imperative to #MEAction that our story be shared in the publications that will make a difference, especially in front of the eyes of those on the medical frontlines, so that people get the care and access they deserve.

In this article, Adriane does not hold back from her frustration at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and shares how the ME community has known Long COVID was coming from the beginning.

She states that the number of people with long-lasting symptoms after Covid-19 is  “no surprise to the ME/CFS community.”

“And yet, we continue to see amnesia and inaction from the NIH when it comes to building off the post-viral knowledge that already exists. Researchers with little experience in long COVID and no experience before COVID-19 are directing NIH-funded initiatives; this means people who have been in the field for six months are grantees over researchers with three decades’ experience.”

We applaud Adriane yet again for her continued, urgent action in getting featured in as many diverse publications as possible. You will remember that she worked hard to get in Rolling Stone, Time, Vox, and so many more.

Click, share, read… and at #MEAction, we will get back to work. We aren’t stopping anytime soon. Thank you.
