Meet the #MEAction Staff: Espe Moreno

I am delighted to be part of the series in which you are getting to know the #MEAction staff! My name is Espe and I am #MEAction’s UK Coordinator.

I am so honoured to be a part of the staff at #MEAction. I came to #MEAction via Unrest, as I was working on the impact campaign to release the film in the UK in 2017 and 2018. I was the campaign coordinator and managed community screenings, the UK social media and many other things! The impact campaign was a huge success and I am so proud to have been part of that movement and team. I am passionate about communities, stories and activism that inspire change.

As I got to know the ME community better through my work with the Unrest release, I realised that there was so much more that needed to be done globally and in the UK to bring change and health equality for people with ME. I became UK coordinator for #MEAction in September last year and I couldn’t be prouder to campaign on behalf of people with ME and to work alongside an amazing team of volunteers and staff.

Huge thanks to this community for the amazing advocacy work done in the UK and globally. In 2019 the House of Commons ME debate was a turning point for people with ME. Our NICE campaigns this year have kept up the pressure and over 25 #MillionsMissing demonstrations have taken place in all UK regions this year, with a record number of MPs attending.

My job is to coordinate and organise our UK work with a team of amazing volunteers, with the strong conviction that together, we are stronger! I am incredibly humbled and proud to be part of this movement and this team, from campaigning, to advocacy, to social media and Parliament. We are in this together and I encourage you to join us so that we can continue to grow our UK work!
