Enrolling: Stanford Neuroendocrine Investivagtion

Researchers from Stanford University aim to evaluate the endocrine system in female ME patients to learn how the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenall (HPA) axis functions in ME/CFS patients. They will do this by evaluating antibodies in 60 ME/CFS cases and through basic endocrine testing.

Dr. Montoya at Stanford University is collaborating with Dr. De Bellis at Secondary University at Naples to investigate the neuroendocrine systems in female ME/CFS patients.

What:

This study involves evaluating all sex hormones and correlating them with patient symptom severity. Samples will be sent to Dr. De Bellis, who will test for autoantibodies to brain proteins. Additionally, the study will use dynamic endocrine testing.
