Welcome Jaime Seltzer to the #MEAction Team – Director of Scientific and Medical Outreach

Thanks to your generous support of our Indiegogo campaign, #MEAction is adding a new team member! We’re thrilled to welcome Jaime Seltzer as our Director of Scientific and Medical Outreach. She will work with ME clinicians and researchers in order to facilitate engagement with the patient community and the public, inspire new scientists and clinicians to enter the field, grow our MEpedia project, and keep our community up to date with the latest in ME research. At #MEAction, we believe that encouraging empathetic care, growing the field, and making science accessible to all is some of the most important work we can do while we continue to fight for a cure.

To say we are honored to have Jaime working with us again is a huge understatement!

Jaime Seltzer contracted ME in 2014. Through research, determination, and the help of hundreds of other patients posting their experiences, she was able to find treatments and practices that restored some of her well-being.

Seltzer did freelance writing before accepting a position as an Assistant Professor in graduate-level Organic Chemistry. In 2016, she was hired as Managing Editor for #MEAction. At #MEAction she played a key role in organizing the #MillionsMissing protests in 24 cities worldwide. She also engaged with representatives on Capitol Hill, the CDC, and the NIH, and represented #MEAction at scientific conferences. In 2017, Seltzer was hired to work at Stanford University at the Stanford Genome Technology Center, doing benchwork and research writing, helping to create disease models and research treatments.

“I’m excited to rejoin #MEAction as the Director of Scientific and Medical Outreach,” Seltzer said, “and I look forward to seeing what the team can accomplish together in 2018!”

We are certainly in for an amazing rest of the year with Jaime as part of our team, but we still need your help to solidify the promise of a brighter future. As we grow and expand our capacity to do more for the ME community, we ask that you contribute whatever you can to fund our mission of creating a better world for ME patients around the world. Donations make possible a team of full-time staff to better support patients, families and allies, while also forming a bridge to the medical and scientific community.

Please help us continue to grow our organization. Support our #MEAction 2018 Fundraising Campaign
