Tom writes:
“My sister Naomi has suffered from M.E. for over 27 years, after becoming ill in 1990. The illness has robbed Naomi of her health from the age of 12, taking away from her opportunities that so many of us take for granted: going to secondary school, learning to drive, going to university, getting a job, buying a home, starting a family and many more.”
He continues:
“M.E. has a devastating impact on both the sufferer, but also on their family. I was 8 years old when Naomi became ill, and have had to watch my big sister endure the most excruciating pain and suffering for many years. I have always felt so helpless, and wish I could do more to help Naomi, and others in the same situation.
“I am now an ambassador for ME Research UK, and am running the London Marathon on Sunday, 23rd April 2017, to raise funds for research, and also much-needed awareness about M.E.”
