Ramsay Award Winners and Webinar with Dr. Zaher Nahle

The Solve ME/CFS Initiative recently announced the winners of the Ramsay Awards, which provides seed grant funding to ME/CFS researchers.  These grants are “proof of concept” investigations and fund small projects that can lead to much larger grants and additional in-depth exploration.  Although only one component of SMCI’s research program, these $160,000 Ramsay Grants fund a diverse set of ME/CFS scientific studies.

The 2016 Ramsay Award Program recipients, as selected by a rigorous peer-review process, are as follows:
Research Team 1: Advanced Non-Invasive Analysis in ME/CFS Diagnosis and Treatment Decisions (United States)
Research Team 2: Metabolic Analysis of B-Cell Maturation in Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (United Kingdom and Australia)
Research Team 3: The Bioenergetic Health Index of NK Cells as a Diagnostic Tool for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (United States)
Research Team 4: Autoimmune Signature in CFS/ME (Germany)
Research Team 5: HHV-6 Mediated Mitochondrial Modulation and Its Association to ME/CFS (Germany)

You can read more about the individual teams and their research goals here.

The final webinar in the 2016 Solve ME/CFS Initiative series will be “Progress and Challenges in ME/CFS” with Zaher Nahle, PhD MPA.  Dr Nahle will address questions about ME/CFS research in general and new initiatives and programs for 2017 in particular.  You can submit your questions in advance to edavie@solvecfs.org
