Announcing the Winners of #MEAction's Poetry Contest!

#MEAction is pleased to announce the winners of the 2016 #MillionsMissing Poetry Contest. We were astounded by the number of submissions we received and we would like to thank everyone who produced such incredible work!
We hope that this will become an annual tradition and that even more people will participate in the future. With this in mind, we encourage you to take up your pens and keep honing your craft.
Poems were anonymized, and three judges worked together to rank each poem.  It was not an easy task to determine the winners and, due to the volume of entries, many meritorious poems could not be included. After long and careful deliberation, our judges chose the ten most striking and moving pieces.  First, second, and third place will receive their prizes within the next few weeks.
Creating and sharing art is one of the many ways in which we can change the perception of our illness, express ourselves, and connect with others. We hope that the process of writing has been fruitful, and that you will join us again next year.  For now, though, we hope that you enjoy reading the winning poems. Congratulations to all of the poets who placed!
