Dr Jarred Younger has completed another in his ongoing series of live webinars and recorded videos on his research into ME/CFS, fibromyalgia and Gulf War Syndrome (GWS) at the University of Alabama.
Dr Younger is Director of the Neuroinflammation, Pain and Fatigue Laboratory at the university.
The latest webinar was Part II of a Q&A session with Dr Younger on the topic of what fibromyalgia and ME/CFS are. Part I can also be found on YouTube. Dr Younger said that he intends to continue to provide webinars in which he explains his research and answers questions sent in to him by patients.
His YouTube channel also includes talks explaining neuroinflammation and a new imaging technique for measuring the temperature of the brain as a marker for inflammation. An additional talk gives details of a randomised trial of nine botanical anti-inflammatories as potential GWS treatments.
Dr Younger states that the goal of his research is “to end chronic pain and fatigue for millions of people across the world. We use neuroimaging, pharmaceutical, and immunological techniques to better understand how inflammation affects our bodies and minds”.
His laboratory would, he said, “soon be collecting information from people who are interested in participating in one of our research projects”.
Patients can get news of his work by subscribing to his newsletter. Questions for his future webinars can be sent to JarredYoungerLab@gmail.com.

SOS: Save our Science
People disabled by ME and Long Covid across the UK send out an SOS. It’s time to send out our SOS signal, if we want to have funded research. May 12th, is Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Awareness Day. On this day, the #MillionsMissing of people with myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) gather to demand an increase in research and
