Help 6000 ME/CFS sufferers in New Zealand get a field worker

ME Auckland: Campaign for a Field Worker

Do you have ME/CFS? Imagine if someone did all this for you:

  • Advocate for your full social services entitlements
  • Organize support groups, and provide transport to get you there
  • Educate your medical team
  • Build awareness in your community
  • Check in from time-to-time to make sure everything is OK

This is what a field worker does for people suffering from ME/CFS. When you’re dealing with an illness that has been marginalized, and knowledge and education in the medical profession and community is so lacking, a field worker can make a real difference.
Our cause
Around 1/3 of New Zealand’s population resides in Auckland. Although it is our largest city, it is our only major city that does not have a field worker. ME/CFS Auckland Incorporated is looking to change this.
We are a registered charity and doing our utmost to make this possible in Auckland.

No donation is too small and every dollar counts. We are appealing to everyone in New Zealand and anyone in our international community, who might care to donate to a cause that helps people with ME/CFS on a practical level.
We realize we are quite privileged in some ways, as many countries don’t have any field workers. By hiring a field worker we hope to show it can be done and might be possible in other communities globally. It sets another precedent that can be leveraged when other towns fundraise for their own field worker.
ME/CFS sufferers deserve more than the limited support they are currently being handed.
Please help us get there. Facebook Twitter
