Support Keeping Telehealth – Take Action Today!

Expanded telehealth coverage for Medicare is set to expire at the end of this year, December 31st!

#MEAction knows losing expanded telehealth will be a problem for many in our community and the wider disability community. While this action focuses on keeping the expanded Medicare coverage for telemedicine, we know that what Medicare does often affects what private insurance does as well. Expanded telehealth coverage increases access to care, improves health equity, and is more affordable than in-person care. We are asking you to urgently call your elected official to ask them to continue the expanded telehealth coverage today!

Don’t worry, we provide a very easy call script.

And if calling is not something within your energy envelope, our friends at COVID-19 Longhauler Advocacy Project have a letter you can send, or you can use our call script for a personal email from you.

You can find your representatives’ and senators’ contact information here.

Here is a simple script to use when making a call (you can ask to be transferred to the person in charge of health policy or speak to whoever answers your call):

Hi, this is { Your Name }. I am a constituent.

I’m calling to discuss telemedicine and how it impacts our community. There are currently bills in Congress (REFERENCE H.R. when calling or writing your representative and Reference S.731 when calling or writing your senator).

  • H.R.7623 – Telehealth Modernization Act of 2024
  • H.R.1843 – Telehealth Expansion Act
  • S.731 – TELEHEALTH HSA Act of 2023

Telemedicine is lifesaving for people with ME/CFS and other chronic diseases and disabilities, and it makes healthcare more equitable, accessible, and affordable.

I am asking for your support in continuing the expanded coverage of telehealth by medicare.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

It doesn’t matter how you reach out. It just matters that we voice our need for telemedicine access to continue!

burnt red square. there is a quote bubble in the center of the image with the words: Take Action Today: Support Keeping Telehealth! Surrounding the bubble is a megaphone in the bottom left corder and lightning bolts in the top right corner. and starburst as well. the meaction logo in the bottom right corner.

Another way to take action today, is to donate to support #MEAction’s much needed work! Make a donation to fuel our fight!

We have said this before, if everyone on our mailing list gave $36 we would be done fundraising, so we are saying it again!

And if you have already donated and are able to give again, we would be greatly appreciative! We still need to reach our $200,000 goal, and with your financial help we can achieve great things!

  1. Revise so people know this is related to Medicare without having to read the whole thing:

“ Medicare coverage of expanded telehealth is set to expire at the end of this year, December 31st!”

“ #MEAction knows losing Medicare coverage for expanded telehealth will be a problem for many in our community . . . “

Also, can you please a use larger font for text! This is the only website I’ve encountered with such small type in my phone
