Announcing a clinical clerkship opportunity for first year medical students, med-peds, internal medicine and family practice residents.

We are delighted to announce the #MEAction Blue Ribbon fellowship at the Bateman Horne Center (BHC) with Dr. Lucinda Bateman.

The clerkship/rotation will consist of one month spent working closely with Dr. Bateman, the founder and medical director at BHC. The primary focus will be on evaluation and care of patients with complex multi-system illness that meet criteria for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) as well as co-morbid conditions such as fibromyalgia, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), migraine, small fiber neuropathies, etc. There will also be opportunities to observe and participate in clinical research. This is a wonderful opportunity for first year medical students.

The dates of the clerkship will be in the summer of 2020.

We invite interested 1st year medical students to apply.

#MEAction is a grassroots non-profit organization that fights for health equity for people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). Our work grows from the knowledge that people with ME deserve equal access to quality research, treatment, and care.

We are thrilled to work with BHC and to create more opportunities for emerging medical professionals.

The Bateman Horne Center focuses on providing compassionate, informed clinical care for people with ME and fibromyalgia and conducting patient-centered research. Their work is vital to researchers and people with ME.

Finding a clinician who is trained to care for people with ME is incredibly difficult. We want clinicians in every city. We want accessible treatment. That’s why we work to build an infrastructure that supports clinicians through every stage of their career and gives them the resources to support their patients.

The fellowship includes a monetary award to cover living expenses.

Submit your application by March 15th, 2020.

Fill out our grant application here and send to [email protected] with “Bateman Horne Fellowship Application” as the subject line: Fellowship Application

Up to two fellows will be selected.
